A vetted network, not a recruiting agency

We built the staffing process we wished existed when hiring AI talent ourselves: rigorous vetting up front, dedicated engineers who join your team, and none of the recruiting-fee or outsourced-shop baggage.

Our mission

Make hiring AI talent as fast as it should be

The average in-house AI hire takes 5+ months and one in three doesn't work out. We exist to close that gap — with vetting, not luck.

Every engineer in our network passes the same four-stage process before a client ever sees a profile. That means the work happens up front, once, instead of being repeated in every company's interview loop — which is why we can match you with 2–3 pre-qualified engineers in 48 hours instead of running a search from scratch.

Our story

Started because AI hiring was broken from both sides

Companies were burning months on searches for AI engineers, only to discover the candidate couldn't actually ship a production system. At the same time, strong AI engineers were stuck in slow, generic recruiting pipelines that couldn't tell a portfolio project from real production experience.

We started as a small network of engineers we vetted ourselves, matched directly to teams that needed them. The vetting bar — and the four-stage process behind it — is the same one we still use today, just applied at a larger scale, with a dedicated team running it full-time.

How we got here

A vetting bar that scaled, not loosened

Year one

Built the vetting process

Designed the four-stage screening — portfolio review, live system-design interview, hands-on build, communication assessment — around real production work, not puzzles.

Year two

Scaled the network

Grew past 500 vetted engineers and 340 delivered projects while holding the acceptance rate under 4%, proving the bar could scale without loosening.

Today

48-hour matching, 97% retention

Clients get 2–3 matched profiles within 48 hours, and the vast majority of engagements run their full course without a swap.

The network

Not a bench. A living, re-screened network

    01

    One network, six specializations

LLM & GenAI, machine learning, computer vision, NLP, MLOps and product integration engineers, all vetted through the same pipeline.

    02

    Remote-first, timezone-matched

Engineers are staffed for a guaranteed 4+ hour daily overlap with your core hours, wherever your team sits.

    03

    Continuously re-screened

The network isn't a static résumé pool — engineers move in and out as project outcomes and client feedback come in.

How we operate

The principles behind every match

Evidence over résumés

A polished résumé doesn't pass our vetting — a working system does. Every engineer is scored on hands-on production work.

Your repos, your rules

Engineers work inside your tools and access controls from day one. We staff your process, we don't impose ours.

Say no when it's not a fit

If a project needs a skill we don't have vetted, we say so instead of stretching a match to close a deal.

Retention over placement fees

We're paid monthly for engagements that keep working, not a one-time placement fee — so churn costs us too.

Hiring philosophy

We'd rather reject 96 good résumés than place one weak engineer

Fewer than 4 in 100 applicants pass our four-stage vetting process — the same review, system-design interview, build assignment and communication check for every engineer, every specialization.

Working with us

What it's actually like day to day

One point of contact

A technical lead owns your engagement end to end — not a rotating account manager.

Daily written updates

Every engineer posts a short daily update in your channel, visible to your whole team.

We flag risk early

If scope, timezone or skill fit starts to slip, we raise it before it becomes a delivery problem.

The team

A small team running a rigorous process

We're not naming individuals publicly yet — here's what each role owns.

Head of Talent

Owns the vetted engineer network end to end.

Head of Engineering

Sets the technical bar for every specialization.

Head of Vetting & Quality

Runs the four-stage screening process.

Client Success Lead

Single point of contact for active engagements.

Security & Compliance Lead

Owns NDA, IP assignment and access review.

Head of Operations

Keeps matching, billing and scaling running smoothly.

FAQ

Questions about who we are

Are you a recruiting agency or a dev shop?

Neither. We're a staff-augmentation network — engineers join your team and your repos on a monthly basis, rather than being placed as a permanent hire or delivering work as an outsourced project.

Where is the company, and where do your engineers work from?

We're based in San Francisco, CA. The network itself is remote-first — engineers are staffed for a guaranteed 4+ hour daily overlap with your core hours, wherever your team is located.

I'm an AI engineer — how do I join the network?

Reach out through the join-the-network link on this page. You'll go through the same four-stage vetting process every engineer in the network completes before being matched to clients.

Who owns my code and IP if I hire through you?

You do, fully and unconditionally. Every engagement includes an NDA and IP assignment signed before any technical discussion, and code lives in your repositories from day one.

Is this the same vetting process mentioned on the services page?

Yes — one bar, applied to every specialization: portfolio and production-history review, a live system-design interview, a hands-on build assignment, and a communication assessment.
